Editing Services and Creative Coaching

I love working with writers in all stages of their writing process from developmental and deep manuscript edits for novels or memoirs, to copy edits for essays and short stories. Combining an innate sense for plot, textured character development, and skillful pacing, with an ear for rhythm and beauty in language, I see all projects holistically. I believe as writers, the health of our manuscripts has a lot to do with the health of our self worth and belief in our projects. I can partner with you to find the passion for yours, as well as offer real world valuable tips and support for how to give yourself the gift of time for your art and remove creative blocks to make the art your soul desires.

Testimonials

“From my first conversation with Chelsea, I knew she understood exactly what I was trying to achieve with my manuscript, and she offered me thoughtful, concrete steps to get there, both in writing and on the phone.  All of her commentary was spot-on and her ideas were brilliant.  Talk to Chelsea once and it’s obvious she has a gift for character and story telling.  I feel extremely lucky to have benefited from her insight, which took my manuscript to the next level and got it ready for querying.  It is no exaggeration to say this was a transformative partnership–my manuscript simply would not have had the same depth without her.  She is also such a supportive, lovely person to work with, so I always felt comfortable talking to her about my questions and asking for her advice.  I cannot say enough good things about working with Chelsea!!” -Taylor Hahn, novel manuscript client

Chelsea has a sixth sense for plot structure and story and seems to intuit the answer to writing problems in a way that feels like some sort of gift. I trust her feedback on my work and have greatly benefitted from the deep conversation around fiction she is able to have with me and her students.”Genevieve Hudson, author of Boys of Alabama (W.W.
